IX KMSG International Congress

Dear Colleagues:

The IX KMSG International Congress was succcesfully held in Santiago de Chile, on December 6 - 7 at the exclusive Hyatt Regency Hotel, placed in a fine residential district of the city, with privilege Andes range mountain view.
Last topics and developments in refractive surgery as well as anterior segment surgery were discussed in a very friendly atmosphere. The participation of 220 attendants and speakers gave a bright atmosphere to the congress. The concurrency of many sponsors of the industry gave a very complete commerial exhibition.

The 2002 KMSG Barraquer Award was given to the distinguished Dr. Amar Awargal from India, in a brief ceremony after his Honour Conference "Phaconit with Ultra Small incisions IOL´S".

A magnificent complete and very interesting round table of the "KMSG Hot line Complication Club" , closed the last day scientific activities of the congress, with very interesting cases and a very good performance of all the participants.

Social events included 2 lunches at the "Aysen" saloon of the Hyatt hotel, and a fine dinner on friday 6 sponsored by Alcon at the "Camino Real" restaurant at the top of "San Cristobal" hill with a wonderfull view of Santiago by night.
